WELCOME TO OUR

Journal

In a social-media-run-world we LOVE blogging because it gives us a space to share more of our work that just "the highlight reel". Honestly, anyone can take 3 great photos from a wedding to share on Instagram. We love sharing an ENTIRE wedding day so that you can see how consistently beautiful our work is. Plus, it's a fun way for our clients to share their wedding images with friends and family online. We hope you enjoy!

Caitlin & Tyler

A Padua Hills Theatre Wedding in Claremont, California

From the bride, Caitlin:

Love Story: Tyler and I met and had instant feelings for each other. Over the years we have learned to push each others buttons,  make each other laugh and love immensely.

Inspiration: Natural beauty and light. Padua Hills Theatre has amazing views, lighting, and decor. We wanted to add a few of our own details but we knew we didn’t need to go overboard. We wanted the focus/pop to be the flowers. It was important for us to not get carried away in the details and remember the true importance of the day.

The most special detail at our wedding was our “love” table. Tyler`s father passed away when Tyler was 15 and he lost his grandma two weeks after we got engaged. We wanted a special way to remember those loved ones. While we were putting together the table we knew we wanted their portraits but we also wanted to incorporate pictures that displayed their personalities. Walking passed the table at the wedding allowed us both to remember the amazing memories we had with our loved ones.

Favorite moment: Tough question! During cocktail hour, right before we got announced, Tyler and I went into the Bridal room and took a few minutes to ourselves. It was the first time we were alone together since walking down the aisle. We took the opportunity to talk about the overwhelming feelings of happiness we had during the ceremony, express our love and really just enjoy each other without interruption.

Advice: Everyone says “the day goes by so fast,” that is a serious understatement. I felt like I blinked and it was over. My advice to future brides would be throughout the day while you’re getting ready and throughout the night during the ceremony, stop whatever you’re doing and take 30 seconds to acknowledge something around you. That way you have the memory of really enjoying how your new husband looked in his suit, or how your grandma was getting down on the dance floor!

Musical choices: Tyler and I didn’t have any issues choosing music for the wedding. While watching TV one night we both really enjoyed the song the character walked down the aisle to. A quick Google search allowed us to find String Quartet, which we used for our processional and recessional songs. We both knew without a doubt what our first dance song was going to be. When Tyler and I first started dating he drove this super loud truck that had an even louder sound system. I don’t think we ever drove anywhere without listening to/screaming along to Cinema by Skrillex. Around the same time I was introduced to a slower/remix of the song. When we played it in the truck, Tyler looked at me and said “We should dance to that song at our wedding.”

Favorite photos: We are both obsessed with the night time photos. I love the trees lit up in the background. I also really love the pictures of Tyler picking me up and spinning me next to the water fountain. I can look at those pictures and instantly remember the feelings of love, laughter and happiness of that moment.
