An Engagement Session in San Diego, California
A Little Love Story from Chloe:
I’ll never forget the day that I knew I’d spend the rest of my life with Elias. It was late August and my flower-print bedding and high school yearbooks were stuffed into Uhall boxes. As we held hands all day, our hearts were heavy with what the next four years would hold. We talked about our summer and the inseparable memories we shared, but were silent about the one thing on our minds: the move. I packed up the last box of swim suits and flip flops in preparation for four years of San Diego college life.
We stood in the warmth of the last night of summer on my parents’ front porch in silence. We hugged and I rested my head on his chest.
“I’m really going to miss you.”
I couldn’t control the tears running down my face. Elias hugged me tight, and I could feel God’s presence around this moment. I knew this was the man that would protect and love me for the rest of our lives.
Elias didn’t doubt whether or not we would be able to drive thousands of miles from Cal State San Bernardino to Point Loma Nazarene University for the next four years. He didn’t doubt the fact that our main source of communication would be cell phone minutes and text messages. Most importantly, he never doubts our love. Through college and now in preparation for marriage, I will always remember our sweet 18-year old selves on my parents’ front porch taking a 107 mile leap of faith.
