From the moment Brian and I met we knew we wanted to spend a lot of time together. We worked through being long distance for about a year and then moved in together and then the rest is history. It didn’t take us or our families long to know that this is a relationship that is going to last a lifetime because there is a lot of love and we both care about each others well being more than our own so we make a great team!
The inspiration for the wedding day was to make it fun while showing that the celebration is truly about us and how much we love one another. When planning, I wanted to throw in some things that not only made people laugh, but truly reflected us. From the Call of Duty cake topper I had made since Brian LOVES video games, or the Star Wars grand entrance, and the Charlie Brown theme song that I love for the recessional, those all are a big part of our relationship.
There was actually a lot of DIY details through out, and I almost don’t remember all of them. I wanted to do a lot of stuff myself, and the summer became all about projects and planning. I hand painted each succulent pot silver and then my family and Brian helped plant all the succulents (I bribed them with Margaritas while planting hehe). I put together the candy buffet and had a lot of fun putting candy in different bowls to see how I liked it. My favorite table I put together was the remembrance table. Brian and I were both very close with our grandparents and I wanted them to be a part of the wedding in a big way.
My favorite moment of the day was when my brother said pronounced to be husband and wife. Not only was I the happiest girl in the world marrying the love of my life, but it was even more special since my brother was the one who was able to officiate our wedding.
I think my only advice is the same advice everyone gives, ENJOY every moment! The day goes by so quickly, just relax and enjoy every moment. Enjoy the time spent with your girls while getting ready, and just know that not everything is going to go perfect, and there will hiccups, but the real reason you are there is to celebrate your love and commitment.
The processional music I chose Christina Perry- A Thousand Years because I just think that is such a pretty song. The song that I walked down the isle to was a surprise. I left that up to Brian and I didn’t know what it was until the moment I heard it for my Dad and I to walk down to. Brian chose, Frank Sinatra- The Way You Look Tonight and it was perfect! Our first dance was Van Halen- Not Enough. We chose this because throughout our dating journey, we always listened to that song and love the lyrics.
It is so hard to pick my favorite photos, but I would say my favorite is the photo of Brian and I outside further away where the trees look gorgeous around us. It almost looks like the trees are making a heart around us. So pretty!
