Jakie,
We have been married for 5 years. I love you more deeply and differently than I ever thought possible.
Each year of our marriage holds a special place in my heart.
In year one we lived in our first home together: that 500 square foot garage in Kensington. It’s funny that we both miss it so much. That year Molly Mae tricked her way into our hearts and we became puppy parents. I remember that year so well.
Year two was filled with walks in San Elijo Hills, coffee dates, building our business, and living, for the first time, near our sweet nieces, Bella and Avonlea.
In year three you encouraged me to pursue my dream of having a portrait studio. You packed up our little townhouse in San Elijo and we moved to our first live-work loft. Thanks for doing that.
We got pregnant in our fourth year of marriage- our biggest, greatest, most rewarding adventure. You took care of me when I didn’t feel well. You grabbed my hand when my anxiety about our baby overcame me. You kissed my face and tummy- loving me by loving our baby. I could feel my heary growing and my love for you deepening.
Our fifth year of marriage was the best. We spent our fourth wedding anniversary in Florence, Italy, learning to cook Italian cuisine from a guy named Giuseppe. I was 22 weeks pregnant and so in love with you. I had no idea how much my love for you would grow in the next few months, as I watched you become a daddy. You’re the best daddy and the best husband.
On our fifth wedding anniversary we watched our wedding video. We went on our first date since our little Lilah Rae was born (8 months ago!). You made me cry at dinner with your sweet card. You gave me another little ring- this time with a June stone. You loved me so well this day and so many others. Happy Anniversary, sweet Jacob. I love you.
